Northeast Organic Family Farm Partnership is Hiring

Project Director (18-Month Contract)

Are you passionate about local food, organic farming, and helping small family farms survive and thrive? The Northeast Organic Family Farm Partnership (NOFFP) is looking for a highly organized, self-driven person to guide us through our next chapter. This is an 18-month role for someone who thrives in a flexible, mission-driven environment and who brings great follow-through, curiosity, and strong people skills.

What You'll Do:

  • Keep our small-but-mighty organization running smoothly day-to-day
  • Help manage programs, grants, and deadlines with attention to detail
  • Work with our current partners (retailers, brands, funders, and allies) and build new relationships
  • Lead project planning and keep us on track
  • Be the main point of contact for the organization
  • Work with our fiscal sponsor, the Board, and contractors to move the work forward

Who We're Looking For:

You don’t need to have run a nonprofit before, but you should be:

  • Excited about our mission: You care deeply about supporting local, organic family farms
  • A great project manager: You keep track of moving parts and follow through reliably
  • Self-motivated and independent: You don’t wait to be told what to do
  • A good communicator: You’re clear, responsive, and easy to work with
  • Comfortable with ambiguity: You can navigate uncertainty and help shape the path ahead
  • Curious and connector-minded: You like meeting people and discovering opportunities

Details:

  • Full-time remote role (could be part-time for the right person)
  • Contract runs for 18 months, with potential for future planning beyond that
  • Compensation Range: $75,000 – 90,000 /year
  • Independent contractor status: You will be responsible for your own expenses and taxes
  • You can work remotely from anywhere in New England with some travel required.

About NOFFP

We were created in response to a crisis: 135 organic family farms in the Northeast lost their milk contracts in 2021. Our mission is to grow demand for organic dairy from the region by connecting consumers, grocers, and brands. We’ve already made big strides—but we’re still evolving. This is a unique opportunity to help shape what comes next.
